1953 M-38/A1 Professionally restored to like new condition
This rare example of a historic 1953 M-38/A1 has been professionally restored to "like new condition." I have owned this Jeep for 47 years. Purchased from Letterkenny Army depot in Chambersburg, PA in 1970. It is a USMC retired unit. I installed a new Hurricane engine and restored it to period appropriate U.S. Army condition. Locking hubs and Warn overdrive installed to make this vehicle more roadworthy.
24Volt, water proof ignition, RT-68, RT-70 and AM-65 (driver side), RT-524 (passenger side) Radio equipment all in good working condition. Includes proper antennae. .30 Cal Browning M1919 (inoperable condition) machine gun on M-31 mounting post with linked-dummy ammunition in proper can which slides into rack aside gun.
M-100 trailer fully restored in excellent condition included. Has intervehicular cable stowed in appropriate box on front of trailer. Hand brake is operational. Trailer is included in purchase price.
This vehicle has been presented at Fort Knox in the Patton Museum as part of the Elvis Presley tribute exhibit/tour.
