M38A1 C - Cannon version

It has the additional coil springs above the rear end. This model did not have a tailgate because of the gun being mounted in it. I am told a CJ5 tailgate will fit. I have not tried it, so I do not know for sure. The jeep has the standard windshield not the special split style for the cannon barrel to rest. The jeep is a former forest fire service Jeep and has not been run for at least the last ten years that I know about. That monster role cage is only bolted on near as I can tell. It appears to still be 24 volt, but the wiring harness is a mess. Starter, voltage regulator, generator are all still there. Both driver and passenger floor boards are rusted out. John Bizal at Midwest Military reproduces the floor boards and hat channels. Please look at the pictures carefully.
