1/4 Ton 2dr Truck 4x4 4-cyl. 134.2cid/60hp 3-speed manual.
This is a well loved jeep. My Dad's first boss (a mechanic - owner of a garage) loaned him this vehicle when he was 16 years old (1947). His Boss then continued for 59 years to used the Jeep mainly at a family cabin with acreage in Darrington, WA. When he passed away, he gave it back to our Dad who was in the Vcca and enjoyed vehicles. The jeep was taken apart and the restoration started (2008).The original engine, original 6 volt system and basic bones were restored. It was painted green then and canvas top and seats were redone. We have the owners manual for this model TM9-803 and some old wheels-tires that were on it when we got it but we drive it with different tires. It has been garaged since we have owned it. We do not know how many actual miles are on jeep but gauge reads 34959. It has been used in parades and morning coffee runs and always brings waves and thumbs up whenever driven. I wish I had taken a video of my tall Dad, picking up his granddaughter, with our irish setter walking next to the jeep a few blocks. Our dog did not like his nails groomed so this was our way of avoiding the drama. Our neighbors still mention this funny 6am scene. By then, the back tire cover had been added which was a photo from an ad for a 1943 Willys Jeep. The wording was added "1943 And Still Moving". It seemed a fitting saying since it was, and still is, a well running vehicle and so many have enjoyed a ride in it.
The engine and brakes have recently been checked by a mechanic and it is ready for a new home and your adventures.
Whatever your "General Purpose" for this GP, this jeep will make it fun and memorable.
